Kristen Fong, MS, RN, NP, graduated from the University of California, San Francisco in 2010 with a Master's degree in Nursing. Her specialty area was as a Gerontology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner, and the focus of her clinical training was on care of older adults, outpatient oncology, and palliative care. She also obtained her pre-license RN training at UCSF. Before joining San Francisco Oncology, she provided inpatient nursing care to oncology, orthopedic, gynecology, and post-operative patients at Kaiser Permanente. As part of her daily responsibilities, she administered chemotherapy and educated patients on symptom management. Kristen realized that she wanted to pursue a career path in nursing and oncology while working closely with the patients, nurses, and doctors at UCSF's Comprehensive Cancer Center as a clinical research coordinator.
